Beneath the canopy of the tamarind trees, Tamarind Events was imagined as more than a venue. It was envisioned as a gathering place. A space where people could come together to celebrate, connect, learn, heal, and create meaningful experiences in nature.

Tamarind trees have long symbolised shelter, grounding, wisdom, and community. Their expansive branches create natural meeting places, offering shade, stillness, and a sense of timelessness. At Tamarind Events, these heritage trees form the heart of the space, shaping the atmosphere and inviting guests to slow down the moment they arrive.

The owners’ vision was to create a venue that felt different from traditional event spaces. Not simply functional, but transformational. A place where the environment itself becomes part of the experience.

Hilary and Meredith have been in the textile, design and food industry for the last 30 years. . Together, these sisters were raised in a family that valued art and design as well as the importance of holistic healthy global food. With their sister and two brothers, Hilary and Meredith ran the beloved Townsville establishment The Metro, one of the cities first successful eateries. Together, their background and skills give a unique and tasteful perspective on any event they plan.
